France-based multinational insurance firm AXA S.A. has reportedly partnered with American tech giant Microsoft Corporation to develop an international digital healthcare platform.
According to reliable sources, the new platform will include a self-assessment tool as well as home care services such as medicine delivery, teleconsultations, and a medical concierge. This digital healthcare solution will also comprise a document vault to maintain records and a list of medical professionals.
It is worth noting that AXA S.A. specializes in offering teleconsultation, self-assessment, and medical concierge services to its customers in Germany and Italy. Reportedly, it plans to expand its service reach to the U.K., Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, and other countries in the coming years.
The apparent platform will also make use of Microsoft’s artificial intelligence expertise, contacts with other digital health players, and its proficiency in secure data-sharing, sources claimed.
Chief Executive of AXA S.A., Thomas Buberl was quoted saying that in many economies the cost of healthcare, complexities, and fragmentation of health systems usually hinder access to essential care.
He further added that by launching this platform in collaboration with Microsoft Corporation, the company will be able to provide an advanced healthcare experience to patients and professionals in a simpler manner.
According to AXA, the digital healthcare platform will help in preventing diseases as well as enhance the research and treatment experience. It will also simplify healthcare access and improve patient outcomes.
The primary motive behind the AXA-Microsoft partnership is to provide users with an advanced digital platform that makes healthcare more accessible by integrating third-party services. This platform can be also be used by patients and healthcare providers even if they are not AXA customers.
By shifting to online consultations, businesses can save large amounts of money and time lost since it helps in preventing patient no-shows and improving employee productivity, cited experts keeping track of the business trends.
