AFS obtains $90M contract to modernize depot business operations

Accenture Federal Services (AFS), a private consulting firm and subsidiary of Accenture, has reportedly been awarded a contract worth $90 million. The contract is regarding the development of an integrated capability for scheduling, planning, & conducting depot maintenance and the expansion of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) capabilities by the United States Air Force across a range of business domains such as logistics.

Four and a half years of performance period has been allocated for the MROi+ (Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Initiative+) contract. As a part of the contract, AFS will build and implement ERP applications to ensure integrated depot maintenance and manage Air Force working capital fund (AFWCF) financials.

AFS will develop the solutions within the Oracle Enterprise Business Suite as well as include key modules such as Advanced Supply Chain Planning, Inventory, Production & Scheduling, Discrete Manufacturing, Repair & Overhaul, and Complex Maintenance.

According to Vince Vlasho, Defense Portfolio lead for AFS, the company is thrilled to assist the Air Force in modernizing its maintenance and logistic systems, which will directly impact and enhance force readiness. A large number of mission-capable aircraft can be developed by the U.S. Air Force owing to its access to consistent, accurate, and timely data as well as improved business processes.

Accenture delivers extensive public- and private-sector experiences by integrating complex ERP systems to its work. Most recently, AFS won a contract to develop a cloud-based common infrastructure for the Air Force ERP systems. In addition, the company is the prime contractor for the AFIPPS (Air Force Integrated Personnel & Payroll System) to modernize leave management, payroll, and core HR functions for the Air Force.

Susan Lawrence, managing director of Accenture Federal Services, Armed Forces Sector, has reportedly stated that the company is excited to work with the Air Force to significantly bring commercial solutions and modernize the depot business operations.
