Poco is obtaining independent recognition at the global level

Poco has reportedly made an announcement via its social media channels, whereby the company will soon be securing an independent identity at the global level. The move comes after more than 10 months following the separation of the company’s Indian subsidiary from Xiaomi.

For the uninitiated, Poco was launched in 2018 as a sub-brand of Xiaomi. The brand initially acquired popularity among young smartphone clientele via its Poco F1. However, Poco’s roll out of phones in the recent past has appeared to be a rebadging of some existing Redmi models.

Since its inception, Poco has entered over 35 markets amounting to a sale of more than six million phones at the global level. Poco F1’s sales reportedly hit a record of more than 2.2 million shipments across the globe. The company has, however, not obtained similar market performance on its other phone models, comprising Poco X3 NFC, Poco X3, Poco X2, Poco M2, Poco M2 Pro, Poco C3, and Poco F2 Pro.

The company has not furnished any particulars regarding any changes that would be introduced in the after sales services of its smartphones as Poco stands out as an independent brand. Further, Poco still appears to utilize Xiaomi’s MIUI custom skin over Android OS in its smartphones.

Poco is advancing into a new age as an independent brand, tweeted Poco Global, while announcing the company’s separation from Xiaomi. The company further added that this breakthrough will be realized via the backing of its global community, that has helped it in the accomplishment of numerous notable achievements since the initial launch of its Poco F1 in 2018.

In addition to this announcement, Poco has also released its Poco M3 which is the company’s newest smartphone model. The phone has been provided with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC and also has triple rear cameras.
