Japanese giant Fujitsu launches novel online medical solution

Fujitsu, a leading Japanese multinational IT equipment and services company, has reportedly announced the commercial launch of its novel medical solution inside the Japanese market. The new solution would give medical workers a powerful novel tool for supporting COVID-19 countermeasures on the frontlines and further promote the digital transformation of doctors’ work across hospitals and medical establishments.

The novel solution links Fujitsu’s entire EMR systems, effectively ranging from larger hospitals to small clinics, with availability in Japan starting 25th of November 2020.

The new offering would securely connect to Fujitsu’s application HOPE LifeMark-Concierge, which is available in the market since 2016, and enables patients to make payments and appointments through a smartphone. It further enables secure and safe online medical examinations by allowing patients access the URL to a video calling system utilized for online diagnosis through notifications in smartphones.

Moreover, the solution empowers patients by letting them to not only have easy access to online medical resources, but also to manage everything ranging from their appointments to billing using  the smartphone app.

By the end of the fiscal year 2020, the company is planning to improve its online medical care solution attributes to provide a wide range of services from its EMR systems, including the ability of sending prescriptions to patients' homes or to pharmacies outside the hospital, patient management using a patient registry system, and video calling system activation.

Moving ahead, Fujitsu remains very much committed to facilitating a secure, safe, and convenient environment for patients to receive online medical care services through this new and other medical solutions. Allowing it to effectively address challenges created by the realities of the post-coronavirus “new normal” and providing stronger support to patients and medical providers.

The firm also plans to connect its cloud based EMR system with the novel medical solution. Additionally, by constantly developing as well as offering online services for medical guidance and electronic prescriptions, the firm expects to largely contribute to the various needs of community residents, healthcare professionals, and patients.
